Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, to the saints in Revivalville, who are loved by God and called to be holy: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thanksgiving and Concern
I thank my God always for the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus — that in Him you have been enriched in every way. Yet I am deeply concerned that you are acting as though you lack what God has already given.
Some among you cry out day and night, “Lord, come and fill this place!” But do you not know that you are God’s temple and that His Spirit dwells in you? Why then do you beg for His arrival as though He were far away? Has Christ not promised, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”?
On Chasing New “Moves”
I hear that many among you run after the sound of a new prophet or the promise of a fresh fire. But I fear for you, lest you be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.
If anyone preaches to you a “move of God” apart from the gospel you received, let him be accursed. For there is no revival greater than the resurrection, and no outpouring richer than Pentecost.
On Misuse of Gifts
Your gatherings are full of noise, yet the church is not built up. Some speak in tongues without interpretation; others seek manifestations as proof that God is present. But I tell you — the Spirit’s presence is not proven by shaking or shouting, but by love, truth, and obedience. Let all things be done for building up, and let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly.
Against Spiritual Elitism
I am told that some among you are called “Generals of the faith,” and others believe they have a “unique anointing” that others lack. But is Christ divided? Was one baptized into a different Spirit? You all share in one Spirit, one Lord, one faith, one baptism. Let no one boast in men.
On Leaders Who Control the Flock
There are those who say, “Unless you are under my covering, you cannot minister.” But there is one Mediator between God and man, the Man Christ Jesus. To bind the conscience of a believer is to despise the liberty purchased by His blood. Shepherds are to lead by example, not lord it over the flock.
Call to Maturity
Therefore, my beloved, grow up into Christ in every way. Do not be children tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine or every promise of a “new move.” Walk by the Spirit daily, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
Final Exhortation
The Spirit of God does not come and go according to the temperature of your worship. He is your seal until the day of redemption. So stop asking for what you already have. Instead, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Stand firm, Revivalville, and do not be led into the bondage of performance religion. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
Amen.
