I’ve noticed something interesting over the years—when people talk about divine healing, some of those who are sick feel offended. They feel as if they’re being blamed for their condition, especially when we say, “God isn’t responsible for sickness.”
Let me be very clear: you are not responsible for your sickness. You have been attacked. Anyone can be attacked. Jesus Himself said, “In this world, you will have trouble.” Why? Because we have an enemy whose sole purpose is to steal, kill, and destroy.
Storms may come
Think about the time Jesus was on a boat with His disciples. A violent storm arose. That storm came even though Jesus was right there with them. Storms happen. Sickness can come as a result of the enemy’s attack, stress, or even natural causes. It’s part of living in a broken world. But here’s the good news: no matter how sickness comes, God can heal it.
That’s the heart of the message that those who emphasize divine healing are trying to share. God wants to heal you. It doesn’t matter whether your sickness came from spiritual attacks, stress, or simply living in a fallen world—He is your healer. He desires your wholeness.
For You!
Now, here’s where some people misunderstand. When we talk about faith and healing, we are not blaming you. Life is full of battles, and we’re all fighting something. Even those who minister healing aren’t immune to sickness. They simply learn how to minister to themselves when it happens.
So let’s clear up a few things:
- If the devil attacked you, it’s not because you’re in sin.
- If the enemy took a loved one, it doesn’t mean they weren’t with God.
- If you’re struggling in faith, God isn’t abandoning you—He’s helping you.
Remember when Peter walked on water? The moment he took his eyes off Jesus and focused on the wind and waves, he started sinking. But what did Jesus do? He reached out and pulled Peter up. He didn’t let him drown just because his faith wavered.
That’s the heart of God. He wants you well. He understands your pain. He sees your daily struggles. He isn’t standing in judgment of the sick—He’s extending His hand to heal and restore.
Think about it this way: are doctors against you when you’re sick? Of course not! Their entire purpose is to help you get better. In the same way, those who minister healing aren’t against you either. They’re simply pointing to the One who has the power to restore.
God isn’t against you. He isn’t condemning you. He wants to lift you up. And through these blogs, I want to help you learn how to receive what He has already provided. You are loved. You are seen. You are not alone.
