Speak that Change

2–3 minutes

Scripture Focus:

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” – James 1:22 (NIV)

Reflection:

James 1:22 calls us to be “doers” of the Word, and the Greek word poiētḗs adds a beautiful dimension to this call. Derived from the same root as the word “poet,” it emphasizes creativity and production. This is a reminder that as believers, created in the image of God, we are not passive recipients of life’s circumstances but active participants empowered to create change.

God, the Author and Finisher of our faith, created everything from nothing through His Word. In the same way, we are called to use the authority He has given us to align the circumstances of our lives and communities with the Kingdom of God. We are not bound to live under the weight of unfavorable circumstances but are empowered to create new realities by speaking His truth and promises.

To be a “doer” of the Word means to take action. It means not just hearing or knowing Scripture but actively applying it to our lives. It also means speaking life, declaring God’s will, and trusting that His Word will not return void. As poets of faith, we create change through the words we declare and the actions we take.

So, believer, speak boldly. Declare God’s promises over your life, your family, and your community. Take action in faith, knowing that the power of the Spirit within you equips you to bring transformation. Speak change. Create change. Peak that change!

Takeaway Points:

1. You Are a Creator: As a “poet” of faith, you are called to create circumstances that align with God’s will, just as God created everything through His Word.

2. Speak with Authority: Use the Word of God and the authority given to you to declare His promises and bring change.

3. Action Aligns with Faith: Being a doer of the Word requires both faith and action. Don’t just hear it—live it out.

4. Change Your World: Whether in your personal life or your community, God has empowered you to bring transformation through faith and obedience.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for creating us in Your image and calling us to be doers of Your Word. Help us to speak with boldness, act in faith, and create circumstances that align with Your Kingdom. Teach us to use the authority You have given us to bring transformation to our lives and communities. May our words and actions always glorify You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration:

I am a poet of faith! I will speak changes, create circumstances, and act with authority, aligning everything with the Kingdom of God. In Jesus’ name, I declare transformation over my life and my world. #faith #doer
