Mark 11:24 says, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and you shall have it.” That’s even before you see it with your physical eyes.
But why is it so important to believe that we have received something before we actually see it?
Receiving and Having it
There are two parts here (1) Receiving it (2) Having it. You can receive something which you do not have yet. For instance, you got the keys to your car. Did you receive it? Yes. Do you have it, not yet.
It is absolutely key to believe that you received it. When we truly believe we have received what we ask for, we naturally begin to imagine it as already done, though we do not have it yet.
This is not just about having a positive thought—but when we activate our imagination to align with what we have received it, you will have it. For instance, Abram didnt have children. However, God changed his name to Abraham, which meant father of many nations. Why? Because it was to activate Abraham’s imagination. Basically, every time when someone calls him by name, he is hearing father of many nations. That’s incredible!
Imagination is key
Imagination is key to creating a reality in our hearts before it manifests in the physical realm (Hebrews 11:1). Faith is the title deed, according to some translators in Heb 11:1. Imagination is what connects the title deed to your whole demeanour. That’s why we say- if you have received it, act like it.
For example, if someone is dealing with sickness, they must believe they have already received healing. This belief influences how they think, speak, and act. They would act healed. “By His wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). If we accept this truth in our hearts, we begin to visualize ourselves as healed, and we live as though healing is already accomplished. Anything contrary to that reality becomes a lie, and the end result- our healing.
The Manifestation Process: Spirit → Soul → Body
The process of manifestation follows a clear pattern:
- Spirit Realm – Everything God provides originates in the spirit. The healing, breakthrough, or provision is already complete in the spirit (Ephesians 1:3).
- Soul Realm (Mind & Imagination) – Our imagination plays a critical role in bridging the spiritual and physical. When we actively visualize what God has done, we align our thoughts with His truth (Romans 12:2).
- Natural Realm (Physical Manifestation) – When faith is established in the heart and mind, what has been received in the spirit becomes evident in the natural (Mark 9:23).
This is how faith operates—from the spirit into the soul and then into the natural realm. As we engage our imagination in faith, we allow God’s promises to manifest in our lives.
