The Secret to a Life Full of the Spirit: Gal 5:6

1–2 minutes

“For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love. — Galatians 5:6

Most Christians have good intentions and we want to live a powerful life. Even the Galatians here had good intentions but they took the path of legalism. Even a lot of preachers say that we need more anointing, more fasting, more humbling, more confession, for God to work more in your life. Is that any different from the Galatians who were trying to “perfect” themselves through the Law?

So, how do we live a life full of the Spirit?

It is by faith working through love. And here’s the beautiful part: when you operate in love, you’re operating in the Spirit. Why? Because God is love. 1 John 4:16 says, “God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” So when you choose love, you’re choosing to walk in step with the Spirit.

What does it mean to walk in faith?

When we walk by faith, we’re walking in confidence—not in ourselves, but in what Jesus has already done. The Bible says we are Holy, Blameless. Righteous, Sanctified, Redeemed, Complete in Christ, Seated with Him in heavenly places, and you might look around and ask like Gideon “Me??”.

When we have faith in God we have faith in what God says he has done, and what he says is done, is done.

That’s not something we earn or perform into. That’s something we accept… by faith. And how does that faith express itself? Through love.

Love is an expression

Through love, we also express what has been appropriated in our life through faith.

Let love overflow. Let it influence every relationship, every challenge, every decision. Let it be the filter through which faith operates.

If there are to be “works” in our life, let them be love-driven works. Let love be the power behind them.

Because in the end, love is what works.
