One of the most beautiful truths of the New Covenant is this: Jesus isn’t just our Savior—He’s the guarantee of the covenant itself (Hebrews 7:22).
What does that mean?
It means your relationship with God doesn’t depend on your consistency, your performance, or your ability to keep things together. It depends on Him—the One who is forever faithful, forever alive, and forever interceding for you.
Under the old system, there were many priests. Why? Because they kept dying. The priesthood was always changing hands. It was fragile and human. But now?
“He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood.” (Hebrews 7:24)
Jesus is your eternal High Priest. His priesthood doesn’t expire. It doesn’t weaken. It doesn’t get passed on. And because of that, Scripture says:
“He is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him.” (Hebrews 7:25)
To the uttermost. Not halfway. Not with conditions. Not only when you’re strong. He saves completely, eternally, and perfectly.
Why?
Because “He always lives to make intercession for them.”
That’s the Jesus we rest in—not just the one who died for us, but the one who lives for us.
This is the heart of the New Covenant: a secure relationship built not on your promises to God but on God’s promise to Himself—and guaranteed by Christ.
