Go to a typical church and you will hear things like- God has given you all this inheritance, but what have you done FOR HIM? It is like God is an investor in Shark Tank, waiting to see who will give the best return on investment. If you don’t measure up, then God goes “there’s wasted investment!”
Drill this in!
Let’s get this straight: you don’t owe God a thing for what He’s done for you.
Not your life.
Not your good deeds.
Not your money, your time, your service, or even your worship.
God didn’t save you so you could spend the rest of your life trying to “pay Him back.” That’s not how grace works. It’s not a loan system.
A lot of preachers try to make it seem as if now since God has blessed you, you owe him.
You’re free—free to give, love, serve, worship, and live well. But not from guilt or obligation. From rest. From gratitude. From joy.
Because honestly? You couldn’t pay Him back even if you tried.
And just in case you’re thinking, “Well, maybe He’ll reward me for what I do now…”—remember: He already gave you everything. Life, salvation, grace, purpose—the ability to do anything good in the first place? Yep, that came from Him too.
So breathe easy. You’re not in debt. You’re in grace.
