Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ – About the opening cere..

2–3 minutes

It’s easy to forget that our struggle is not against other people, but against spiritual forces of evil, as stated in Ephesians 6:12.

The events of yesterday, while unsettling, should not surprise us.

Ephesians 6:12 (ESV)
12For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

I’ve noticed a sense of panic among some, fearing that God’s kingdom is at risk. Let’s be clear: the kingdom of God can’t be destroyed. As Jesus said in Matthew 16:18, the gates of Hades will not overcome it. No matter what challenges or attacks we face, God’s kingdom stands firm.

So, how should we respond to the actions and offences of the world? Our response should be one of compassion and a want to bring people to Christ. There’s no greater triumph over the devil than to win the souls he aims to destroy. If those who oppose us truly knew Jesus, they wouldn’t act as they do. Our mission is to help them know Him. It is important to approach these situations with understanding and empathy, recognizing that everyone is fighting their own battles. By extending a hand of kindness and sharing the love of Christ, we have the opportunity to make a positive impact and bring about change in the hearts of those around us. Additionally, by living out the teachings of Christ in our own lives, we can serve as a living example and draw others closer to Him. Through our actions and words, we can strive to create a more compassionate and understanding world, where the light of Christ shines brightly in every interaction.

Does this mean we should avoid protests or outspoken reactions? Some point to the instance of Jesus driving out the money changers from the temple, using it as a justification for righteous anger. But it’s important to remember that Jesus ultimately sacrificed Himself for the very people He chastised. How many of us would be willing to die for those who offend us or mock our Savior? Before considering dramatic actions, we should ask ourselves if we’ve even prayed for these individuals.

The enemy has long sought to eradicate believers and God’s children, but has never succeeded. The endurance of Christ’s kingdom is not due to our protests or boycotts. Rather, it has persisted through the ages because of believers who loved and shared the gospel sacrificially, even to the point of death. Their divine love and willingness to sacrifice are what have truly advanced God’s kingdom.
