These days, you can’t scroll through Christian content without seeing words like:
“How to unlock God’s favour.”
“7 steps to attract divine favour.”
“Position yourself for supernatural favour.”
Sounds spiritual, right? But let me ask the obvious question:
Why does it need to be unlocked? Who locked it in the first place?
Because from what I read in Scripture, favour has already been poured out—freely, fully, and permanently—through Jesus Christ.
You’re Already Highly Favoured
Remember what the angel said to Mary?
“Rejoice, highly favoured one, the Lord is with you.” (Luke 1:28)
That same word “highly favoured” (Greek: kecharitōmenē) is used in Ephesians 1:6, where Paul says:
“…to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted [highly favoured] in the Beloved.”
That’s you.
You’re not trying to be favoured.
You’ve already been positioned in Christ, who is the Beloved of the Father—and you’re accepted, welcomed, and favoured because of Him.
The Problem With “Unlocking Favour”
This kind of language sounds like faith but smells like performance.
It implies:
- You don’t already have God’s favour.
- You need to do something extra to get it.
- You can somehow earn or “attract” more of what Jesus already purchased.
That’s not Christianity—that’s a religious hustle.
And it breeds insecurity. You’ll always wonder, “Am I doing enough to be blessed?”
You’ll turn your relationship with God into a negotiation: If I honour, fast, tithe, or serve just right… maybe I’ll unlock favour.
But that’s not gospel.
That’s striving.
What Does the Bible Actually Say?
- Romans 5:1-2 — “We have access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.”
- Ephesians 1:3 — “He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.”
- 2 Peter 1:3 — “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness.”
- John 1:16 — “Out of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace.”
You don’t need to chase favour—you need to believe you already have it.
You don’t need a new spiritual key—you just need to rest in the finished work of Christ.
You’re Not Trying to Attract Favour—You’re Living From It
Think of it like this:
You’re not trying to get into the house—you already live there.
You’re not knocking on the door hoping for a blessing—you’re sitting at the table with the Father.
If you’re in Christ, you are:
- Loved
- Forgiven
- Accepted
- Empowered
- Highly favoured
Stop Being Deceived
Don’t fall for the “Christian marketing” version of grace that tells you to do more to get more.
You don’t need to work for favour.
You just need to walk in what’s already yours.
So next time someone says, “Here’s how to unlock divine favour…”
Smile politely.
Then open your Bible and remind yourself:
“I am complete in Him.” (Colossians 2:10)
“I am seated with Christ.” (Ephesians 2:6)
“I already have every spiritual blessing.” (Ephesians 1:3)
Final Thought
You’re not on the outside trying to earn a key.
You’re a child of the King, already inside the house, with access to the fridge, the living room, and the inheritance.
So stop striving.
Stop unlocking.
Start living like the highly favoured person you already are.
