Why We Confuse Blessing with Being Seen

3–4 minutes

One of the things we often forget—or never fully believe—is that God isn’t into favoritism. He’s not sitting in heaven, hand-picking a few “special” people to bless, while ignoring the rest of us. That’s not who He is.

But let’s be honest: it doesn’t always feel that way.

“God Has Honoured Him!”

We hear it all the time.

Someone gets a platform—a big stage, a powerful mic, a viral moment—and suddenly, people start saying:

“Wow! God has honoured him!”

And sure, it might be well-intentioned. I’ve said it too. But here’s the issue:
We start connecting God’s blessing with visible results, with moments we can measure—like platforms, promotions, or popularity.

But is that really what blessing looks like?

If That’s True, Then What About…

  • The faithful man preaching on the street corner, seen by no one but God?
  • The mother raising her kids in Christ day by day?
  • The believer quietly praying behind the scenes, far from lights and applause?

Are they less blessed because they’re not on a stage?

Not at all. In fact, they might be walking in more eternal fruit than the one trending on YouTube.

Equal Opportunity Blessings

Ephesians 1:3 says:

“You have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.”

Did you catch that?

Every spiritual blessing.
Not some. Not based on how many people follow you.
If you’re in Christ, you are fully, completely, irrevocably blessed.

You’re not waiting for blessing—you already have it.
The question is: what are you doing with it?

Deuteronomy 8:18 — Power to Produce

“But you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to make wealth, that He may confirm His covenant…”
(Deuteronomy 8:18)

The Hebrew word for “power” here is koach, which means strength, ability, or capacity.

That verse isn’t just about money—it’s about God giving you the tools to walk in His promises.

He gives you the power to build, to grow, to study, to work, to create, to preach, to lead, to love.
But here’s the key: You still have to use it.

God Gives the Tools. We Steward Them.

Jesus had the anointing, right? Totally.
But He still studied. He still waited. He still prepared.

He didn’t sit back and say, “Well, I’m blessed—things will just happen.”
He used what He was given.

It’s the same with us.

You’ve been given righteousness.
You’ve been given sanctification.
You’ve been given holiness.
Your status is unchangeable in Christ.

But if you choose not to live in holiness, not to grow, not to act… you’re living below your identity.
You’re not less blessed—but you are missing out on the fullness of that blessing.

You’re Royalty, But Will You Reign?

Think about it like this: the British royal family are kings and queens in title—but they don’t actually rule.

Some believers are like that. Royal by identity, powerless in life—not because God withheld power, but because they never learned to walk in it.

Envying the Stage Is Missing the Point

If someone uses what God gave them and ends up on a big platform—great!
But don’t envy them.

Because:

  1. You don’t know the cost.
  2. You’re probably envying the stage, not the person.
  3. That stage doesn’t make them more valuable than you.

God hasn’t withheld anything from you.
He’s not unfair. He’s not partial. He’s a perfect Father, and you’re His fully blessed child.

Final Thought: It’s Not About Favoritism

Let’s stop thinking in terms of hierarchies of anointing or levels of God’s love. That’s not biblical.

Yes, there are different callings.
Yes, there are different responsibilities.
But God’s blessing? His love? His Spirit?
Those are already fully given to every believer.

You are blessed.
You are equipped.
You are empowered.

The only question is: what will you do with what you’ve been given?
