Have you heard people say that if you practice grace then the listener will be encouraged to sin. I understand what you mean, but think about this. God knew that when he gave Adam the choice of whether to eat or not eat, there was a chance he would eat. Also, think about the prodigal son, the Father knew what would potentially happen when he wrote his belongings to the younger son. He could have restricted him saying that it’s for his own good. But he didn’t. Why?
Because where there is love, there is freedom to choose.
Yes, the prodigal son sinned and went wayward, but at last, he figured the true depths of Christ’s love, and came back home. He erred badly and finally realized that there is nothing better than the Father’s love. The older son, is a picture of the one who relied on his own righteousness, always kept the rules, but yet, in his interactions with his father, you see a son bent on obeying the rules, rather than living as a Son, That is what the law does to you.
Sure, while living in the freedom of grace, there might be slip ups, but there is an eventuality and inevitability in grace, that eventually they will grow into the knowledge of Christ and his freedom and his righteousness and walk in the fulness of God.
If you want to walk far, choose grace!
So, always choose grace not law!
